Matt 15:22-28 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children’s bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

There are precious few that have been give a blank check so to speak concerning prayer, that whatever they asked would be granted. Solomon in the Old Testament and he asked for a good thing and this woman in the New Testament and she asked for a good thing. With Mother’s Day approaching let us look at this woman this week. First, she started our far from Jesus but knew He was what was needed for her daughter and in her life and family. She was of Canaan and according to Mar7 7:26 she was a Greek, a Syrophenician. She was not a Jew and had no relationship with Jesus. This is the first step in becoming a good mother, having a relationship with Jesus Christ. She came to Jesus with a need that only Jesus could meet. Yes, it was her daughter who was possessed of the devil, but she had a need as well and that of salvation. She had to put her faith and trust in Christ which she did. Mom, are you born again, are you saved today? If not, that is the first step in becoming a good and Godly mother. Let us put religion aside, good works aside, church aside, good intentions aside and ask one more time, are you born again. It can certainly be said that not every mother is a Christian mother but it can also be said that every truly good and Godly mother is first a Christian mother. What of your relationship with Jesus Christ. Are you born again?
