Matt 24:4-8 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
KJV
Most would agree that we stand now at the beginning of sorrows as God’s program for the end of the age of grace plays out. NO, the born again believer will not go through the tribulation period and we wait today for the rapture to take place. But we also look with great concern at the current world events and how they will continue to impact our lives. What should we do then in these last days? Several things we will look at this week. First, draw closer to our Lord. (Ps 105:1-4
O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.
2 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. 3 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord. 4 Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.) The word evermore in verse Ps 105:4 does not mean forever, it means more and more. We need to be seeking God more today, more and more. The hold that the world has on the professing Christian is a tight one and God’s people need to turn away from the world and to Christ. Church attendance today should be going up, prayer meetings should be overflowing, God’s people should be seeking revival, but that is not the way it is in America. Most today seem content to just go on with life as if this age will last forever instead of preparing to meet the Lord in the air. We have no real idea what is going to take place in America in these last days. Will we be involved in a world war, will we be able to drive our cars with soaring gas prices, will we have food shortages and how high will prices go. What to do? Seek the Lord evermore, seek His face, seek His presence evermore. As we do that we will find great blessings from the one we seek. Read the rest of Psalm 105 and see what God did for the people who would seek His face evermore.
