Mark 11:22-26 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
KJV
How far can or should I expect my faith in God to carry me? Consider the context in which this is given. In a vary short time Jesus is going to be betrayed by a friend, arrested by a mob, falsely accused by a Jewish council, forsaken by those closest to Him, turned over to Rome, mocked, beaten, scourged, and crucified. There was a huge mountain before Jesus. (Verse twenty three.) What was going to carry Jesus over this mountain, move it for Him? Faith in the Father and prayer. (Luke 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.) In His greatest hour of need, with that mountain before Him, Jesus prayed. And for what did He pray? For the will of the Father to be carried out in His life. That was and is the greatness of His faith in God, to pray for the will of the Father. We may many times face the same type of mountains in our lives today. We will never suffer as Jesus did, go through what Jesus did, but we may face the very same type of mountains in our lives as Jesus did. Where to turn, what to do? Have faith in God and begin to pray for the will of the Father. That is the way the mountain was moved for Jesus and yes He did go to the cross. But that is why He came into this world, to go to the cross. The mountain was removed so He could get there. Have faith in God and pray.
