17 And he said, What is the thing that the Lord hath said unto thee? I pray thee hide it not from me: God do so to thee, and more also, if thou hide any thing from me of all the things that he said unto thee.
18 And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is the Lord: let him do what seemeth him good.
19 And Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.

Samuel, at a very dark time in the spiritual history of Israel, must have been a great blessing to the Lord. In another place the phrase “Hath said” is used in the Bible we find that Samuel would tell all that the Lord hath said and would let none of the words of the Lord fall to the ground. The message that Samuel had for Eli was not a good one, it was a message of coming judgment upon his house and on his sons. Yet Samuel told the truth. That young boy did not tell the old priest what would be pleasing to his ears, he told the truth. Many are those today who will not tell the truth. They will not speak of sin, of judgment, of hell. They focus on love, goodness, kindness, on acceptance and tolerance. Those things do have their place, but not at the expense of the Word of the Lord. Why not tell the truth, give the Word of God in love but in truth and as the Bible says perhaps save one from a multitude of sin and if they never come to Jesus from an eternity in the Lake of Fire? Samuel let none of the words of God fall to the ground and neither should we.
