Chron 7:17-22 And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statues and my judgments;
Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.
But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the Lord God of their fathers, which brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods, and worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath he brought all this evil upon them.

I wonder what Solomon was thinking about as God told him these things? Not so very long before this God gave Solomon permission to ask for anything he wanted and God would grant that petition. Solomon asked for wisdom and God blessed him beyond measure. Now a warning given to Solomon. Would that wise man heed the warning? We know Solomon did not and the history of Israel is set before us in the Bible and it is not a good one. Now what of us today? Could the same warning and the same promise be applied to the believer in Christ today? That answer is yes. While we are not Israel and will not sit upon thrones and have a kingdom in this world we can receive great blessings from the Lord for a walk that is right with the Lord. God was interested in Solomon’s walk and is just as interested in our walk before Him today. How is your walk today? Will your day begin with a desire to walk pleasing to the Lord? Will your walk today be down a path God is leading you on? Will your walk influence others for Christ? Or will you make a wrong turn as Solomon did and rob yourself of all the blessings God wants to give? It is important how you walk today.
