1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Another way to resist Satan is to understand whom Satan is after. Many times over the years I have asked the question of who Satan is after in verse nine and the answer has often come back, Christians. While that is true, Satan attacks all Christians, it is also true that He attacks individual Christians. Satan is after you if you are born again and will attack you personally and individually. In verse nine Satan is compared to a roaring lion on the attack. In you have ever watched the nature shows on the TV about lions on the attack they never attack the entire herd, they go after one at a time. The lions may devour an entire herd but it is one at a time. That is the way Satan continues his attack on the children of God today, one at a time. Satan wishes to destroy all that is of God and in trying to do that he seeks to devour one child of God at a time. We can better resist Satan when we understand his attack is aimed at us, at you, at me. Make the battle personal because that is what the enemy has done.
