1 Peter 5:8-9 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1 Peter 2:6-8 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

How can we resist Satan and the Satanic takeover of our day? One way is to stand on that rock of offence which is Jesus Christ. Why was Jesus a rock of offence to so many and why is He today? One reason is that Jesus presented Himself as the only true way to heaven. (John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.) It would not be the Law of Moses that would take one to heaven, not the idols of the heathen, not the many religions of Rome, it would be Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ alone. That truth offended people in that day and it offends people today. Man is born in sin, all people, and condemned to hell, all people. The religious, the good, the rich, the poor, the powerful and proud, the caring and meek, the one who denies hell, all are condemned to hell. Jesus is the only way to escape that judgment and to have forgiveness in Christ means one needs to acknowledge their sin, confess it before God, repent from sin, and trust only Jesus Christ and Jesus alone. When that name of Jesus is removed from government, from education, from society it is also a removal of the one way of salvation and we need resist that movement. The name of Jesus needs to be proclaimed because His is the only name that can and will have victory over Satan. Resist by telling others about Jesus Christ and the one way of salvation.
