December 23rd, 2021 by Pastor Solley1 Tim 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
KJV
The great mystery of Jesus Christ coming into this world to me is why. All that we read in the above verse is true, all took place and is a matter of record. Jesus did come, born of a virgin, God in human flesh. The Spirit confirmed His identity and work more than one time and led Christ. Angels were present at His birth, baptism, crucifixion, resurrection from the grave and ascension back to heaven. The gospel has been preached and believed in the world. All is true. But why? Why would Jesus Christ come into this world to save someone like me? Why would Jesus leave heaven, why would He chose to live in this sin cursed world, why would He go to the cross and shed His blood, why? Can we, could I be worth that much to Him and why? That remains a great mystery to me even as we give answers that point to His love, His mercy and His grace. Still the question, why? That to me is a great mystery. But every mystery does not need to be answered, some things just need to be believed. Praise God for the great mystery of Christ coming into this world to save sinners and praise God that He still saves today. We don’t need to answer this mystery, we just need to believe and receive God’s gift of salvation in Jesus Christ.
