December 22nd, 2021 by Pastor Solley2 Cor 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.
KJV
Most of the time we do not speak of Christmas gifts. We do when asked what we would like for Christmas or when asking others what they would like for Christmas, but after a purchase, after gifts are wrapped we do not speak of them as we want them to be a surprise on Christmas Day. I wrapped a few presents for my wife yesterday and they will remain a secret for a few days more. But there is a gift we need to speak about, a gift we need to talk about, God’s unspeakable gift. The gift of Jesus Christ needs to be spoken of to others and especially to those who do not know Jesus Christ as their personal savior. The word unspeakable above means that the gift of God cannot be expounded upon, cannot be fully explained, and cannot be fully understood. When we talk of Jesus Christ coming into this world we can give the facts because they are recorded in the Bible. We can explore the Old Testament prophecies, the New Testament account and we can give the facts. But what God gave us, who God gave us, why He came and what Jesus did for us goes beyond what our minds can grasp and well beyond what words can express. Let us say today that the gift of God in giving His Son is an unspeakable gift and let us speak to others about that gift.
