Isa 30:18 And therefore will the Lord wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the Lord is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
KJV
We know that we are to wait upon the Lord. (Ps 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.) But very few times do we stop to think about why we need to wait on the Lord or why the Lord may delay in answering our prayers. One reason is given in our verse for today as we find that at times the Lord waits as well. The Lord will wait perhaps that we may become stronger in prayer, that we depend more upon Him, or just because the time is not yet right for Him to move. Whatever the reasons that the Lord may wait the outcome of His waiting and ours on Him is that we may be exalted. That Hebrew word means to be lifted up, to be lifted on high. So dear Christian if an answer to your prayers seems to be delayed, if it seems you are bing made to wait, remember that God is also waiting and His desire is to life you up.
