Jer 1:4-9 Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
6 Then said I, Ah, Lord God! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
7 But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
8 Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.

It was the Word of the Lord that became the guide in the life of Jeremiah. That Word was true, it was for him, it was all that he needed to mold and shape his life. What if we could receive from the Lord the same direction for our lives as Jeremiah did? But we can in our Bible. The Word of God we have before us is for us just as it was for Jeremiah. We can be just as sure as the prophet was that it is true, that the words in our King James Bible are the very words of God. We can also be sure that God has plan and purpose for us just as He did for Jeremiah. But are we as willing as Jeremiah was to receive instruction from the Word of God and follow that instruction? This is where we often part ways with Jeremiah, he was willing. How willing are we to receive and follow the Word of God? The events over the past almost two years now are proof that even most professing Christians are not willing. Many churches have had to close the doors because God’s people have chosen to stay away from the church house when we see clearly in Scripture we are to assemble together. Many have masked up and stop talking to people they come in contact with when they know we are to share the good news of the gospel message. Jeremiah was willing to obey what he was first given and then was given more. Only when we are willing to obey what we have been given will God give us more and then His Word becomes the guide for our lives today.
