Acts 17:10-11 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

I wonder if there has even been a time it more important that people search the Scriptures than today? There is so much noise today that one can be taken in so many directions and all of them leading further and further away from God and the truth of the Word of God. So many different voices today and all telling me what is best for me. Politicians telling me what is best for me, science so called telling me what is best for me, educational institutions telling me what is best for me. Is there anyone that truly knows what is best for me? Yes. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ knows what is best for me and for you as well. But what institution is it that all of the above are telling us to stay away from and what book do they all claim to be outdated and of no value in today’s world? Stay away from the church because it is dangerous to your well being and stay away from the Bible because it can destroy the world we are now living in. But those believers at Berea decided to take matters into their own hands and search the Scriptures. Interesting to note that if you take the time to study those times in which they were living you find the church and the Bible were under attack just as they are today. But they turned to the one and searched out that which would help them and tell them what is best for them. It is time for the children of God today to do just as they did and if we do you will find people filled with the knowledge of the one who does know what is best for them and our churches filled as well.
