October 11th, 2021 by Pastor SolleyLam 3:21-26 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
KJV
The book of Lamentations was given to a prophet with a very heart but even in light of what he saw taking place Jeremiah had hope. Where did that hope come from? First, it came from remembering, remember his God, the goodness of His God, the love of his God. Jeremiah remembered. Then of the truth that God is a God of mercy and compassion and they never will run out. The mercy of God, the compassion of God will never be consumed, they are new each and every day. Then Jeremiah determined to make God His portion and wait on the Lord. Whatever the circumstances of life today we need take the truth that is given to us in verse twenty six of Lamentation chapter three. “It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.” Jeremiah found that out even with a very heavy heart and through many tears. “It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.” Our wait may be long but it will always be rewarded.
