Dan 9:1-3 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;
2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplication, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:

How often are the times you set yourself apart to seek the Lord? Daniel was at a point that he needed some answers as it would seem that the Word of the Lord was not aligning with what he was experiencing. God had said through the prophet Jeremiah that the Jews would be in dispersion for seventy years. Daniel then had been told by the Lord of the world empires that would come and go. The seventy years were about over and still the first world government was in power. Daniel did not understand. What to do? Daniel began to seek the Lord with prayer and fasting, Daniel turned to the one who could give him answers. To whom are you turning today? Many are the things we do not understand today. As I pray there are things that I just don’t understand. Why was this one taken home to be with the Lord when they were so needed? Why is this young child so ill and in need of a miracle? Why is this aged one who is such a prayer warrior in such dire straits? Why in these last days are so many walking away from the Lord when they need be running to Him? Why, why, why? I know where to find the answer to all of my questions as do all those who have been born again and have a relationship with Jesus Christ. But will we seek the Lord in ways that we need seek Him? Will we stop and give time in prayer? Will that prayer time become deeper and deeper as we are devoted to the Lord? Will we look for answers in the way Daniel did?
