Ps 31:23-24 O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
24 Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.
KJV
Psalm thirty one ends with the words we read above. What a promise for our day. Who can we trust was the question that began our week and one we find in the first verse of this Psalm. Here in the last two verse we find the answer to that question in the Word of God. Love the Lord, trust that He will keep the promise made in verse twenty three and stand in courage because you are strengthened by Him. Our hope needs to be in the Lord today, it can’t be in any other. People, all people both saved and lost, are facing so many different things today that their only hope is in the Lord. I talked to a close friend last evening who is facing serious illness in the family. Our church was in prayer yesterday for some very young people facing illness. I talked to another who has been dealing with an injury for a few years. Another friend asked for prayer and advise in a situation that they have found themselves in. I have been in prayer for one that stands in need of God’s hand touching and healing them. Add to all of these things the uncertainty of our day. Prices for all goods going up, taxes that are going up, government trying to take over personal rights and liberties, people afraid to speak up. Where can the born again believer find hope, where can they find strength? Read and meditate upon the last two verses of Psalm thirty one.
