For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Psalm thirty seven is one of my favorites in part because of verse four. But what is the desire of my heart today? Like most believers in Christ I pray for those who are ill, those who are in need. I pray for my family and the different needs there. I pray for others and I pray for my self. I also pray for things that perhaps are not essential but are the desires of my heart because the Bible says that He shall give me the desires of my heart. But what are those desires to be? We are given the answer to that question in our text this morning. Is it my desire to come to the point that I trust fully in the Lord? (Verse 3) Is it my desire to always do what is good in His sight? (Verse 3) Is it my desire to delight in Christ in every situation, in every circumstance of life? (Verse 4) Is it my desire to commit all to Christ? (Verse 5) When that is the desire of my heart I can certainly look to the Lord for answered prayers and untold blessings.
