6 When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

Nine times in the book of Psalms we find the psalmist meditating, in meditation. In our world today when one hears the word meditation it is associated with making the mind empty so it can drift to whatever area it may choose. Not so in the Bible. In the Bible meditation is making the mind center on one area and we find our mind is to meditate upon the Word of God. Each of the nine times in the book of Psalms when meditation is found it is upon the Lord or His Word. The last time the word meditate is found in the Bible it points to the Word of God. (1 Tim 4:15-16
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.) Do you want your soul to be satisfied in a day when that seems almost impossible? For any of God’s people to find satisfaction today they must look to the Bible, look to the Word of God. The Bible tells us where to look. (Ps 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.) Not to government, not to science, look to the law of the Lord. The Bible tells us whose ways to follow. (Ps 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.) Not government, not science, God’s precepts. The Bible tells us whose works to settle upon. (Ps 77:12 I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.) What might happen if we determine to meditate upon the Lord, meditate upon the Word of God?
