For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

In Psalm 27 David makes the Lord his light and salvation, David waits on the Lord. (Yesterdays devotions.) Today we see what gave David such confidence in the Lord. Verse one tells us that the “Earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof”. Verse two tells us that the Lord created all and everything that surrounds us. If the Lord created all, as He did, then the Lord has authority over all and controls all. Now the command to seek the Lord, to seek His face given in verse six becomes very clear. As long as we seek the Lord, as long as we walk after the Lord, as long as we make the Lord our light and salvation, as long as we wait on the Lord blessings and victory over life’s enemies is going to follow. That does not mean we will be free from all sorrow, all trials, all pain and suffering in this wold. What is does mean is that we are on the winning side and we need to remain there. Remember the earth is the Lord’s, so let is wait upon Him.
