Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

How easy it is to forget things. As one grows older that seems to be the norm, forgetting things. When I am working in my shop, doing odd jobs around the house and other projects it seems I can’t remember where I placed a tool I used just moments before. There are times I am driving down the highway and I must ask myself where I am going and why. How easy it is to forget things. Yet we should never forget just how good God is to us, how good God has been to us, and how good God is going to be for us. We should never forget all the benefits of knowing God, of knowing the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal savior. But how easy it is to forget things. I talk to professing Christians going through trials and they question God, or get mad at God, some grow bitter and turn away from God. They have forgotten all the benefits of knowing the Lord. Others who are going through trials much greater praise God for His goodness. The difference being that they stop to remember all the benefits of knowing God. They remember being saved from sin and hell, they remember a place made for them in heaven, they choose to remember the benefits of God. Today take some time to remember all the benefits of God and give thanks for the goodness of God. It will make for a better day.
