July 8th, 2021 by Pastor SolleyRom 12:1-9 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:
5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
KJV
Without breaking down the gifts that are named in verses four through nine let us just say that God has given every born again believer gifts to be used in His service as we present ourselves to Him. There have been things that I have tried in life that have come very easily to me, natural as they say, and then others things that I have had to work very hard at to find success. In the spiritual realm of service for the Lord God wants us to work, to put in an effort and few things if any will come natural to us because the very nature we are born with fights against the things of God. But rest assured that God has given to us, through the Holy Spirit, gifts that will allow us to serve. As we put forth an effort, presenting our bodies a living sacrifice, those gifts become known to us and allow us through Christ to serve and find success in His service. My gifts will be different than your gifts but we are part of the same body and when we serve Christ together the whole body becomes what God wants it to be. But don’t look for your gifts until you decide to follow what is put before us in verses one and two above. The gifts are not revealed until after that is followed but when we are fully given to Him those gifts become know and service becomes natural to us because we are putting away that old nature and putting on the new nature that we have in Christ. We find success in His service because we are using the gifts He have us.
