James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

We should all as Americans enjoy our day of freedom and liberty on July fourth, enjoy and celebrate the day set apart as our Independence Day. But we should never forget the price paid for our freedom and those who sacrificed so much. Freedom is not and was not free. We should also remember that freedom comes with responsibility and respect our flag, our nation and the laws of the land. The same things holds true spirituality. There was a great price paid for our freedom from sin and our Christian liberty. (Rom 5:8-9 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.) We also have a responsibility as to our liberty in Christ. (1 Peter 2:16-17 As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. 17 Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.) Enjoy July fourth, but remember freedom was not and is not free.
