17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
KJV
Looking at things through the eyes of the world it may seem that the righteous man, the Christian, the born again believer in Christ has little as compared with the lost man. But lets take a little inventory this morning. All of the following are found in the Bible and are the possession of the born again believer in Christ. (1) Sins forgiven and a relationship with the living God. (2) A mansion in heaven that will be for all eternity. (3) The indwelling of the Holy Spirit to guide and teach us. (4) A friend that sticks closer than a brother. (4) Provision of all of our needs in this world. (5) Angels to guard over us. (6) The ability to understand spiritual things. (7) An open invitation to pray and the promise that God hears our prayers and will answer. (8) A sound mind. (9) Peace that passes all understanding. (10) Purpose in life. (11) One to serve out of love. I could go on and on this morning but considering what was just named I can see why the Bible says that a little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. The lost must leave their possessions in this world when they leave this world. The little that a righteous man hath is lasting and not of this world.
