June 14th, 2021 by Pastor SolleyEph 6:10-12 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
KJV
This is one of three verses in the New Testament the believer in Christ is commanded to be strong. The word finally suggest that we are hearing a final statement on a matter and indeed we are, the need to be strong in the Lord. What can we accomplish in this world that is of any lasting value apart from the power of God? We can gain money, popularity, influence, worldly prizes, many different things but all of those will be left in this world when we leave this world. The true born again believer in Christ needs to look at things through spiritual eyes, needs to look at things that will be of true value, things that will follow us to heaven, things done for Jesus Christ. But to get to this point we must be found walking in the power of His might and not our own strength. The next several verses outline the spiritual battle we are in, the spiritual battle we will fall in unless we walk in the power of His might. Are you looking to Christ today to grant you the power by His grace to get through this day? Over the next several days we will look at what we need put on to be found walking in the power of His might.
