1 Chron 28:10-11 Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it.
11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
1 Chron 28:20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

Another time the Bible commands to be strong occurs when David confirms to his son Solomon that the Lord would have him build the temple of the Lord. Why would Solomon need to be strong and of a good courage? Because of the way the enemy would oppose the work of God. Satan never lets the work of God or the people of God alone, not at that time, not now. If you take time to read the verses between our text this morning you find God gave specific instructions as to how the temple was to be built. Did Solomon really need to do things exactly the way God said? Couldn’t some corners be cut? When things got difficult couldn’t he stop for a while? Did those God said be leaders in worship really need to be in charge? Why not build on site instead of far away and then fit things together on site? These are all ways that Satan opposed Solomon trying to get Solomon to move away from the pattern set for him. (Verse 11) There were many other ways as well but Solomon stayed true, Solomon finished the course. Don’t be surprised today when Satan opposes the things of God, opposes you as a child of God, and tries to get you to stop or stop doing the things God clearly shows us in His Word. It is another attempt by the enemy to move us off course. Solomon stayed the course, are we?
