John 20:1-9 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

One of the accounts concerning the resurrection of Jesus Christ is given to us here in the gospel of John. As they hear of the news of the empty tomb Peter and John run to the place the body of the Lord had been put to rest as we say. John, being the younger, outran Peter to the tomb and stopped at the entrance but when Peter arrived he ran in. John seeing no immediate danger, and for another reason we will explore in the next few days, then followed. Now John seeing the empty tomb believed. That beings to mind a saying, seeing is believing. But what did John have to see, what was it that John did not believe? Was it a matter of simple faith, or was there something that John needed to see? I believer John needed to see that Jesus was gone, that Jesus was no longer there, that what Jesus had said was true, He did arise from the grave. John most certainly believed the words of Jesus, John knew Jesus was the Messiah, the very Son of God, John did believe, John did have faith, but John still needed to see. There are things we need to see today as well. I believe the Bible, I know Jesus as my savior, I believe in answered prayer, in miracles, but I still need to see. Seeing is believing and now the question we will ask this week, what do others see when they look at you, at me? Do they see something that makes them believe in Jesus, believe that your faith is real? When John ran into that empty tomb he saw something that made him believe. What do others see in you?
