Eph 6:10-12 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
KJV
We have looked at five of the places the phrase “Be strong” is found in the Bible thus far this week. Here we have another in our text this morning and the Bible tells us “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.) This is a concluding thought on the matter although the phrase is found one more time in the Bible. But “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” How much we need heed this command today as we face daily the wiles of the devil. The common theme among Christians today seems to be “How much longer can things go on?” Another may be “I don’t know how much more I can go through?” The answers to those questions I do not know but I do know this much, we need to be strong in the Lord. Could it be that we need to be strong in the Lord in this changing world so that others might come to Christ? Could it be that we need to be strong in the Lord in the face of our trials so others can see a true testimony for Christ and then come to Him? There are times when this preacher gets tired, there are times when this preacher struggles, there are times when this preacher gets disgusted. It is at those times when we must remember we are to be strong in the Lord. Not is self, not in friends, not in family, strong in the Lord. Finish well.
