Gen 48:14 And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.
KJV
Here we find that Jacob guided his hands wittingly. It was custom for a father to give dying blessings to his sons and that is what take place in Genesis 49. At this time Jacob was blessing his grandsons and it was the practice to give a greater blessing to the oldest and that is the way Joseph had his sons stand in front of their grandfather but when Jacob stretched out his hands he crossed them. If you read the entire account you find Joseph tried to correct his father but Jacob hands were guided wittingly, guided by the Lord and the blessings were not changed. Are we willing to allow God to guide our hands wittingly, to place our lives under His capable control? Most Christians are not and because of that we put ourselves through things we never need go through. God was right, the younger son of Joseph was the greater. God will prove to be right is guiding our lives wittingly as well if we just give Him the opportunity to do so. Is you life being guided wittingly?
