Jesus Christ came into the world to take care of the sin problem for all mankind. Just as all have sinned and all means all, Christ died on the cross for all and all can be saved. But how? Is believing in God enough? Is knowing what Jesus did enough? No. If it were Satan and his demons would all be saved because they believe those things. How then to be saved? The first step is in our verse for this morning, repent. To repent, Biblical repentance involves acknowledging sin, being sorry for that sin, confessing that sin, and then turning away from that sin. Those things take place when we look to Jesus Christ as the savior of the world, look to make Him and Him alone our savior, lay our sin at His feet, confess, ask Him to forgive us and then in newness of life turn away from sin. Salvation is not found in a church, not in a creed, not in works, not in any other but Jesus Christ. (Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.) That name is Jesus and Jesus alone. The way to come to Christ is clearly given in the Bible.
(Rom 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.) If you try and come to God in any other way then you will be turned away. But all who come by Christ will be found in the family of God, be moved from the losing team to the wining team. Do you know Him today?
