Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
KJV
The word wonderful is found twenty one times in the Bible. All but a very few of them have to do with Jesus. But what makes Jesus wonderful? I am thinking that this would make a good study as we move toward Christmas Day. First of all it is a wonderful name, Jesus. Are you happy with your name? I have never really been happy with the name George. I don’t know why, it is a good name, a name with a family heritage, but I have never been really happy with it. (Not that I ever thought of changing my name.) But the name Jesus is a sweet name. No other name is found so many times in the Bible as the name Jesus. What makes that name so sweet? The fourth time that sweet name is found in the Bible tells us why it is so sweet. (Matt 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.) He is the one able to save all people from their sins. More to come on the wonderful name of Jesus.
