1 Cor 1:25-27 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
KJV
I was thinking as I was reading these verses how thankful we should be, I should be, that not many wise men after the flesh are chosen. The most intellectual people I know and have known in my life are so far above others that they seem unable to have any real relationships and no relationship with God whatsoever. For example, when I was in a secular college out of high school I had a philosophy class in which the entire thirteen weeks was sent trying to prove the earth was round to the professor. He laid down a picture of the earth taken from space on a table and stated that because that picture was flat the earth was flat. We then as individuals had thirteen weeks, meeting three times a week, to present arguments that the earth was round. I did receive an A in that class presenting just one verse in the Bible as my argument. (Isa 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:) Because the Dr. Of Philosophy believed there are no absolutes in the world he had to accept my argument and my limited ability of belief accepting the Bible as truth and had to give me that A. The foolishness of God is wiser than men.
