24 And ye said, Behold, the LORD our God hath shewed us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God doth talk with man, and he liveth.
How many times did God show His glory to Israel? Over and over again they saw the power and glory of God beginning with the march out of Egypt, to the passing of the Red Sea, bitter waters made sweet, water from the rock and on and on we go. Over and over again they saw the glory of God. But they continued to turn away time and time again. Why? Because they would hide the glory of God, the power of God with their own selfish desires. Instead of walking in the glory of God, instead of doing His will, instead of complete surrender they held all too tightly to self and the world. As a result they were never satisfied with the Lord. They never saw clearly the glory of God. We are often the very same way. God time and time again will show the Christian His glory but how often do we see it? All too often we are consumed with self to the point we cannot see the glory of God. What do you see today?
