Daily Devotions

Eph 1:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

When I read verses like these ones it brings to the front how much of Christ was given to us, His all in all. Then it leads me to ask myself how much of myself have I given to Christ? Is it really my all in all. There are many things that grab our attention in this world and most all of them can take us away from our Lord. Not all of them are bad, some don’t seem harmful at all. But what of our relationship to the Lord in relation to those things? Can we engage in them and still give all to Christ? That is possible in marriage, possible in work, possible in service in our churches. All of those things can be done for the glory of the Lord. Even in recreation we can do all for the glory of God. That is until any one of those things become more important to us than our relation to the Lord. We must give Jesus all of all first and always. He did do that for us.
