Eph 1:14-19 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

A great many blessings come with this guarantee or earnest of our salvation. I read once that over three hundred things take place the moment one repents and receives Jesus Christ as their personal savior all of them because the Holy Spirit takes up residence in our heart. Among those things is the gift of wisdom that we see in verse seventeen above. Wisdom is not knowledge. Some of the most knowledgeable people in this world lack wisdom. Right now I hear all the time that we need to trust the scientist during this pandemic. The scientist, at least the vast majority of them don’t even believe in God. The scientist believe in evolution and deny the Word of God. With all the knowledge they have gained and they still miss the most obvious truth, why should I trust them? I would rather place my trust in God. That may not seem to be knowledgeable but it is wise.
