Judg 8:4-5 And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them.
5 And he said unto the men of Succoth, Give, I pray you, loaves of bread unto the people that follow me; for they be faint, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, kings of Midian.
2 Cor 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Gal 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
KJV
I think this morning of Gideon as he continued on for the Lord even when he was faint and then the many times the word faint is found in the Bible, a few of which I have shared with you today. With all that takes place in the lives of God’s people it is no wonder that at times we feel faint. World conditions, circumstances that occur in our lives, health issues, the constant battle with the world, Satan and our flesh, it is no wonder we at times feel faint. I talked to one in the ministry yesterday and they are feeling faint over the division this virus has caused among Christians and in our churches. What to do? Gideon was faint but Gideon kept going for the Lord. I believe the problem is not in feeling faint, we all will at one time or another, the problem is quitting on the Lord, the problem is not continuing to move forward for the Lord. Are you feeling faint this morning? Then you are in good company if that answer is yes. But continue on for the Lord friend, even though you are faint keep going for the Lord.
