Ps 45:7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
KJV
Why is it that there seems to so little joy in the life of many Christians? The above verse has the answer. For many there are three words that are missing from the verse in their lives. Know what they are? “And hatest wickedness”. We say that we love the Lord and at the same time love the wickedness of sin and the world. Something has to give. Jesus said that one cannot serve two masters, one would be loved and the other hated. But we try and love the two in our lives, Jesus and the world. When that is true something does have to give. We will not lose our salvation but don’t expect to be anointed with joy from the Lord. Is joy missing in your life? Be sure of your love and also be sure of you hate. Yes we are to hate and to hate wickedness.
