12 Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
KJV
Waiting is something I have not been very good at for many years of my life. When I was younger and hunting with my father he would place me in a good spot to see the game we were hunting and tell me “Wait here, don’t move from this spot.” Of course I would get impatient and move only to find out later that the deer or turkey came past where I had moved on from. Now in my later years I am able to wait patently for that big game animal to pass by. The same principals are played out spiritually all the time in our lives. Some of the above verses are easily acceptable to us. We want the Lord to teach us, to deliver us from our enemies, to see His goodness in our lives. I think we can all agree on that. But why do we at times miss those things? Because we will not follow verse fourteen and wait on the Lord. What are you praying for today, what have you been praying for? Are you willing to wait on the Lord? Waiting is not always easy but it will bring good success.
