10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

These verses are often a great comfort to the believer in Christ while going through trials as they should be. But is it true that no evil will befall us? Does that mean no bad things will happen to us as long as we are dwelling in the Lord? Any individual who has lived and amount of years comes to know that is not true. I will visit a man in the hospital tomorrow, a brother in Christ, who has been through and is going through more than I could ever endure. Yet the above verses I have shared and will share with him. What does it mean then that no evil will befall us? I look at this as telling me no evil can ever take me away from the Lord, can overcome me to the point of absolute despair and hopelessness as long as I make the Lord my habitation. As long as I make the Lord my dwelling place, keep my eyes on Him, no evil can take the place of the Lord in my life, can dominate my dwelling place. Let me always by the grace of God make my habitation in the Lord, that is my prayer daily.
