Daily Devotion

Gen 45:5-8
5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
8 So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
How many things in our lives that we do not understand, that we often question why, that weary us, and that we wonder about? Things that discourage and tax us. I wonder how many of these things we will look back on one day and say as Joseph said “God did send me”. That we will finally see that God was working His plan and purpose and He was using us. It was many. Many years before Joseph found out the “why” of being sold into Egypt, being falsely accused by his master in that land, being cast into prison and forgotten. But down the line God revealed that His hand was at work to preserve life. God did send him. It may be that we don’t understand why or where God is sending us but one day, perhaps not until we see Jesus, one day we will see and understand. God sent Joseph and God is sending you as well.
