2 Kings 25:30 And his allowance was a continual allowance given him of the king, a daily rate for every day, all the days of his life.
KJV
We who know Jesus Christ as our personal savior are not kings although we are called priests because of our relationship with Him but this verse certainly applies to us. We are given a daily rate, all that we need, for our entire lives in this world and then for eternity. It is also an allowance. I was never given an allowance as a youngster growing up in our home. An allowance was something one did not work for, it was just given. I had no allowance but I always had what I needed and then a little money in my pocket. It was not an allowance because I was expected to work for it, to earn it. But not from my savior, He gives me an allowance, something I do not earn, something I do not deserve, something I could never deserve, but it is mine none the less. What a blessing to know that there is a daily allowance coming to me today and there will be one tomorrow as well. While we do not know what the future will hold we do know we will be given an allowance to meet our needs.
