What a name to be called, The Lord our righteousness. This week a football game is being played, the biggest game of the year. For two weeks leading up to this game special have been aired discussing the greatest players to ever play in this game, the greatest of the game and so on. That would be a great honor, to be called the greatest player in the greatest game. But what will that do for one in light of eternity? By their lifestyle the greatest players in the greatest games show they are lost in sin, show they are apart from God, show they are not ready to step into eternity. So what does that title get them? I will never be well known, never called the greatest at anything, so what does or did life hold for me? I do know Jesus as my savior and in eternity I can be, I am known by this name “The Lord our righteousness.” It is a name I wouldn’t trade for all the fame in the world. Is that your name today?
