Phil 1:20-23 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
22 But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
23 For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

Continuing our thought from yesterday. It should be that Christ be seen in the believer, in all that we do. What Paul could say of himself should be said of all believers, that for us to live is Christ. Why is that not the case, why do we fail the Lord so often? Because of the struggle within. Verse 28 is not about that struggle, it is about Paul wanting to be with the Lord but also knowing his time in this world was not quite over. But I would apply it to the struggle we have within, a struggle the believer faces daily, one I face. We know it would be better if we just lived for the Lord, walked with the Lord, were faithful all the time, we know that would be better. But there is a struggle within, we do at times seem to be pulled in different directions, the world pulling at us, our flesh pulling at us, Satan pulling at us, all trying to pull us away from the Lord. Don’t give in my friend, it will always be better when we stand with Jesus. No matter the battle, no matter how great the struggle, fight to stand with Jesus, it will always be better if we stand with Jesus.
