Luke 1:46-47
46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Why Mary? First, Mary is NOT the mother of God, is not above Jesus Christ, is not to be worshiped, was not sinless. Mary was chosen as the human instrument through which Jesus Christ wold come into this world. Jesus had to be born as a man in order to offer His life a sacrifice for sin on the cross and for that there needed to be a woman chosen. That woman was Mary, why? The above verses tell us all we need to know. Mary was given to the Lord, given to Jehovah God, her soul belonged to the Lord, not because she was sinless but because she had repented of her sin and looked to God as her savior. Mary needed to be saved just as all of us do and Mary was saved just as many are today. Because she had a desire to magnify the Lord with her life, because of her character, because she was of the house of David, she was chosen by God. Mary is NOT the mother of God, is not to be worshiped, was not sinless. But like Joseph she was chosen by God because of her faith and character.
