And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

God determined that there could be and there would be revival in Israel. As one looks at Israel at that time, at God making a way some time later for them to return to the Promised Land, at God raising up certain men to lead them, you see that the revival was dependent upon the promises of God. God has made us certain promises as well as born again believers in Christ, promises that make revival possible today. We have the promise of His continuing presence, we have the promise of the work of the Holy Spirit within each believer as well as in Bible believing churches, we have the promise of a sure and eternal Word to follow and many more promises as well. These promises make revival possible and dependent upon God. But we must also do our part. Ezekiel needed to see the need for revival, Ezekiel needed to surrender to God, and then Ezekiel needed to be molded and shaped by God. This is when life can come back into dead bones. When we take the steps that Ezekiel took we can see the beginnings of revival. More tomorrow.
