Daily Devotions

Matt 6:9-13 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

I confess that the thing Satan attacks most in my spiritual life is my prayer life. There are times that it is just hard for me to pray or pray as I should so for a few days we will look at this model of prayer. We first see our relationship with God the Father through our Lord Jesus Christ. If God is not our Father through the new birth there can be no acceptable prayer offered up, we must have that relationship of Father and Son and this is possible only through the shed blood of Jesus. Once that relationship has been established there needs be a longing to pray as one had or has a longing to speak to his or her earthly father. Do you have that longing? Mt earthy father has been gone now for five years and still I would love to speak to him, to talk to him once more. I need have that same longing for communion with my heavenly Father. Begin to look at prayer and your prayer time as a special gift that you can use anytime for it is just that. Have first a longing for prayer and to speak to your father.
