Here we find why so many of us feel a common bond with David. David was overwhelmed by the circumstances of his life. Saul would kill him and not because of anything David had done but because of Saul’s evil heart. So many times we feel overwhelmed by the world and the enemies of faith. What did David do at that time? He left where God wanted him to be and went to the land of his enemies. Nothing good took place in the life of David in the land of the Philistines. What should David had done? Drawn closer to the Lord instead of moving away from the Lord. Take a lesson Christian as nothing good will come if we move away from the Lord. I can’t think less of David for doing this when I have done it so many times in my life. What I can do is take a lesson from David and draw closer to the Lord when I am overwhelmed.
