Ex 14:13-14 And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
KJV
I wonder at times how many blessings from the Lord I have missed simply because I have ran passed them, because I did not wait on the Lord. Moses and the people were commanded to stand still. Of all the things they could do at that time standing still would be the last one any of them would choose. Pharaoh and his army were in hot pursuit, the Red Sea in front of them, they did have options. Run was an option. Surrender was an option. But they were commanded to stand still. They obeyed and God delivered Him. There are times when we need to pray, seek the presence and will of God, and then wait on the Lord. (Ps 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.) We are not to lag behind when the Lord leads, but we are not to outrun the Lord as well. There are times when we need to wait on the Lord, to stand still while God works and just wait on Him.
