July 11th, 2019 by Pastor Solley2 Peter 1:1-4 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

I was listening to the thunder just a few moments ago and it reminded me of this passage. We have been given some great and precious promises in the bible, one of them being that the Lord will never destroy this world by flood again. We make many promises in our lifetime but God’s promises are different in that they will never and can never be broken. Things can happen that cause us to break our promises. Sometimes we make a promise we can’t keep because we do not think it through when we make it. Other times we make promises we intend to keep but circumstance come that prevent us from fulfilling them. That never happens with God’s promises, what God has vowed God will keep. The nature of God makes the promises of God true. Take sometime today to think of what God has promised you and it will cause you to humble yourself before Him in worship and praise.
