2 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred.

How many times do we speak before we think? How many times do we find ourselves in trouble because we speak before we think? How many times do we wish we could take back our words? The Bible covers this not only in this Psalm but in the third chapter of James as well. How can we have victory in this area? By allow God to take control of our tongue, but allowing God to govern what comes out of our mouth. David compared keeping his tongue to a bridle. David said he was dumb with silence. David said he would not speak in anger. There are times when we need to speak out but always with wisdom. Ask God to take control of your tongue and we will find ourselves in a lot less trouble.
