Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels.
And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.
Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

What if the clay could respond after this process, after it had been made and remade over and over again, what would the clay say? It would have to say it was now better off, it had been made into something useful, something of value. The process may have been long, many flaws had to be removed, but now it was something useful and not to the potter alone but to all who would see and use it. Our refining process, our molding process, our making process is not an easy thing as we go through it but in the end we will be like the clay and be able to say we are better off. Our potter does not remove things from our lives to make it had, just to make us better. We are not fired in the forge to break us, only to make us stronger. In the end like the clay we can say that it is better to be made and remade by the Lord.
