The New Testament church is built upon doctrine, sound teaching. Bible doctrines are those sound teachings that are found throughout the Word of God. For example the doctrine of salvation. The doctrine of God’s holiness. The doctrine of the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Doctrine is important. It is also doctrine that divides. There are some doctrines all like to adhere to such as the doctrine of heaven, the doctrine of God’s love. It is also true that even those doctrines divide people. How does one get to heaven? If God loves the world then isn’t the world going to be spared from judgment and hell? A true member of the true church will love doctrine and will follow Bible doctrine even when it is divisive. How much do you love doctrine?
